The Weekly Sharpener #73 - Creative Cuts
These ads are a vibe, are yours?
Hey Fam ๐,
Welcome to the #2 โ๏ธ Creative Cuts Edition of the Weekly Sharpener where you'll get three of our favorite ads in the game ๐ฅ.
We'll break down why we love them with the goal that you'll have some actionable takeaways on how to improve your creatives and grow your business. ๐
We've partnered with the Ad Library ๐ team to make this a great experience for you. ๐ฃ
Now Johnluke and I will get to it ๐
Youth to the people ๐ค
Why Johnluke loves it: This ad has been on my feed for months. There are 3 key elements that make this a winning ad in my opinion:
Clean transitions to give to a โswipe throughโ feel, similar to a carousel.
The messaging is clear & simple. Use the routine at night -> See results in AM. Paired with nice branding wordplay like Dream, Hydrate, Glow used right before CTA.
The music: It is so damn groovy. It just makes you wanna get up and dance. I think thatโs what YTTP do super well is bring elements in from culture (Music,Clothing, etc) and use it to their advantage to bring people into the ecosystem in other ways. Check out their playlist for some vibey tunes here (insert this link) here
Why Chase loves it: This ad takes its time. What's nice about that is because the packaging pops you can focus on the copy.
What I really love is how halfway through it does to text-only screens to remind people of the benefits. They only do this after ~10 seconds of straight products.
Also, love the editing being a swipe up to change scenes, the counter-intuitive motion keeps your eyes engaged. This ad is a lot of fun!

Obvi ๐
Why Johnluke loves it: I hear mixed reviews on how this hook actually performs these days on TikTok but really do love the idea of it & TEST EVERYTHING.
The quality & production is A1, sounds organic, but I think it could potentially use a little stronger CTA. Now, if this is a true piece of UGC we have no control over that but if working with creators, Iโd definitely look to test what a more bold CTA performs like.
Why Chase loves it: I love the visual cohesiveness from the box it was delivered in -> the product packaging -> large cup she is using. It is a throughline by itself. The color keeps our attention and creates a narrative.
Also showing the joy of receiving something new + the benefits you'll receive is a strong throughline. I'll agree with JL here, let's end with a stronger CTA.
Moon Juice ๐
Why Johnluke loves it: The overall aesthetic is so perfect here & fits the brand perfect. There are tons of accounts on TikTok that post this type of content and get great engagement & following because of the aesthetic, so I love that Moon Juice is working it into their strategy.
As for the overall positioning, hereโs a little secret: Over the last 3 months, this style testimonial creative (sliding/changing testimonials) have been performing very well for us internally, on almost any sort of backdrop we put them on.
They are scroll stoppers, social proof, and benefit callouts all in one when played right, and a personal favorite.
Why Chase loves it: We love them using part of the ad in the primary copy that we had to include body +1 that it's focused on customer efficacy.
The images are so clean and soothing that you almost want to dive into the scene. At it's core though, this one is simple.
1. The water + plus slight movement on the capsules before the hand grabs them, keeps your attention.
2. The calmness of the scene makes you believe the five-star ratings, adding in the customer feedback.
Formula = simple/clean visual setup + social proof + dash of humanity
